WEB Camp 2012 Thursday, December 20, 2012

Before I start flooding this post with words, thousand apologies for being MIA for so long & not updating my blog because sometimes is either I do not possess these pictures so I need to wait for friends to upload it, or I am really tied up with my schedule and I can't sit down in from of my lappie, choose photos and start blogging.

Powerkids annual camp is back, and this year our theme of the camp is W.E.B. Camp, We Experience Breakthrough. Powerkids Church, in short, PKC is a kids ministry back in my church in JB, and I've been there since young as a kid to a helper to a teacher and until today, I still serve every time I return to JB during my breaks.

This year's camp is held in Genting Highlands, which was pretty convenient for me because its nearer to me and I was pretty happy when I got the information. But then, I chose to travel back to JB to attend one prayer meeting together with the rest of the teachers and leave with the other committees for campsite the next day as camp committees have to travel up one day earlier to set things up. The route for me is KL-JB-KL in two days, but its all worth for the Kingdom of God.

We arrived at the campsite around 5pm, which was pretty late already as we have quite a number of things on our list to be done! So, very quickly we load all the goodies, PA system and our luggage down the van and check in into out room and head over to the hall where our kids services will be held.

We even came up with a last minute video when Janice & I were cracking on our heads on how to introduce the rules to the kids when they arrive tomorrow in a special way. You can watch the video in the link below.

The rest arrived Genting the next day and everyone had lunch at Gotong Jaya before heading to the campsite, Peace Haven. Got the kids settled & arranged them into their dorms and we started off with orientation & ice breakers! The kids then went to shower and we started off our first session after dinner.

OH CHECK OUT OUR GLOW IN THE DARK CAMP SHIRT WOHOOOO.

Day two, the kids are up early in the morning for Jazzercise session, led by yours truly. Guess what song we danced to? The song that everyone been talking about, OPPA GANGNAM STYLE.

We also had games in the afternoon and I personally think the kids got tired running station to station but they all had great fun!

Janice & Xian Di's station where their game was inspired by Running Man.

Amy's station

And my station! Lovin' the sunlight and the cold chilly wind *burrrrr*

The kids gave their best in every game to score as many points as they can for their group!

And now I shall introduce all 6 teams to you,

First, Facebook!

Second, Google!

Third, Yahoo!

Fourth, Twitter!

Fifth, Friendster!

Last but not least, Youtube!

After games, the kids went to shower and had dinner and got ready for the night session. The kids really worshiped the Lord with all their heart during the praise n' worship session and it's such a beautiful scene to sight.

Our speaker for the camp also played some games with them during sermon time and the kids are all hyped up for it!

After every night session, we have supper for each of them, and since its the last night of the camp, we allowed them to take a walk outside the building after supper to enjoy the breeze and the scenery.

Darrel & I, cute little thing ask me, can I see Singapore from here?

The last day of camp, we had our usual morning session after breakfast.

The kids paying 100% attention during the session.

And before we end the camp, we had testimony time for the kids! Many took up their courage and boldness and came to the front to share their breakthrough from this camp.

The highlight of the camp, drama competition! Xian Di & I emceed for this session, and thumbs up for every team, their acting skills, creativity on using the props given and entertainment! Some teams really got us laughing so hard :p

That's all about the camp, after drama, the kids packed their luggage and headed back to JB after lunch & announcement. I went up to highlands with friends after camp, so I stayed back at the campsite and bid goodbye to the them :(

You can watch this video to check out the summary of camp done by Janice in one night, she's the director behind every video for camp *claps* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPQGndNV7jI

October Rush Tuesday, November 6, 2012

It's October! Gosh, really a month that I can go broke, simply because too many people birthdays fall in this month!

Cut the long story short, went back jb during oct and I decided to bake some chocolate cupcakes, honestly I feel it turned out pretty dry :( But people kept telling me, not bad not bad, maybe just to not let me feel bad? :(

OH if u're interested in baking or cooking, drop by Sherlyn's baking blog, I promise you there are tons of food to let you work on. This is the blog www.letsbake365.blogspot.com !

So I brought some of the cupcakes back to KL, and I randomly called Hui En to come do the deco with me one saturday evening after children church.

JENG JENG JENG, the product of the night!

But look how messy is th table while we were doing :p

My products!

Hui En's product!

And as I said, its the month with tons of birthday in our youth group, so the october babies organized a 'Octobies birthday celebration'. We went for a steamboat buffet+bbq at Klang. It was really a good night spent with them. We went a little bored just cooking and eating, so guess what? We played Masterchef hahaha! Ran to get our ingredient, cook in the time given and got judges some more! *DON'T PLAY PLAY :P*

It was Vincy's actual's birthday when we went for the steamboat so me & Olivia secretly got her a tiny cake!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VINCY!

LIFEXTREMERS CONQUERING THE STEAMBOAT PLACE! I think we are the loudest table :D

And Olivia, the birthday ministry leader, led the group and did some meaningful presents for the October babies! Those colourful T-shirt on some of them in the pictures are the presents from the youth group, with all our wishes written on the back!

And Olivia's birthday also falls on in the month of October, so the youth group also did a present for her, with all our wishes on the tree for our dear bday ministry leader!

The girls with our youth leader, Joash and his wife, May went out on Olivia's birthday to celebrate her big day at TGIF Pyramid! And you know, is TGIF, so we definitely made the waiters to make her do funny things before she blows her cake!

Joash's birthday, falls on the day right after Olivia's birthday, so again we pakat and ask the waiter to kacau Joash as well before blowing his cake!

Me, Olivia and Hui En also secretly sneaked into Joash's house at 12am and scare him in the kitchen!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAREST YOUTH LEADER <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">

And we also celebrated Brian's birthday that falls on the same day as our No Apologies workshop in church.

Happy birthday Brian! I love this picture.

So, got confused? birthday here birthday there? HAHAHA this is quite a big summary on how I spent my October, celebrating birthdayssssss! Stay tuned for November's update :)

Food reviews Thursday, October 11, 2012

Hello there again.

So ever been fretting on where to go for dinner simply because you're sick of the food and shops near your area? Well good news *I suppose* I'm gonna be doing two food reviews on the recent restaurants I went, you should check them out one day too!

This is a rather outdated post but who cares :p

Impromptu plan with the bunch on a Saturday night, we decided to head down to PJ to try out the-everybody-been-checking-in shop, The Burger Lab. Friends had been recently checking in to this shop and you know curiosity kills :)

Are you ready? JENG JENG JENG.

This picture was taken before I went home, thats why its so dark. We reached there around 6pm, and you'll be amazed by the number of people queuing up for burgers when it's still early for dinnah!

Yes order here, they have nice deco in the shop, little details everywhere which makes you wanna have second glance on it.

This is just like 1/4 of the crowd?

So many people waiting for table and we had a hard time getting one! *like an auntie fighting for seats*

So thank God someone has cards in the bag, our waiting time for the burgers is 45mins, so cards to kill time babeh!

Yummy burgers had arrived!

YAY I'M READY TO CONQUER MY YUMMYLICIOUS BURGER!

The burger tasted really good. The patty was so thick and juicy accompanied with their fries & special sauce, whole set is enough to be your dinner and supper! LOL.

WE TRIED TO FIT THE BURGER INTO OUR MOUTH, PHAIL-EDDDDDDDD. THE PATTY WAS TOO THICK.

The crowd when we left the place, its like 3/4 of the crowd has gone compared to the crowd when we first arrived.

Was really shocked when I see this notice, its only 8pm and all the burgers, SOLD OUT! Now you can imagine how tasty it is huh >:)

BALIK RUMAHHHHHHHHH.

So if we wanna pay Burger Lab a visit, do come early!

Second food review, Food Foundry.

As everyone knows, Food Foundry is pretty famous with their crepe cake *yumz*. We went there by GPS, and to my surprise, its situated beneath a HDB flat.

My main course of the night! Taste gooooood.

Love the vintage feel and decorations in the shop.

Their huge pillows are so comfy. A cup of coffee + crepe cake + good fellowship in such a nice ambience is definitely gonna make your night a better one :')

And after dinner, don't forget to try their crepe cake :9

I chose my all time favorite flavour, chocolate!

OH LOOK AT THOSE FINE LAYERSSSSSS.

 Vanilla, many people's favorite.

That's all for the food review, more coming up! These two shops are at PJ, so next time when you cannot decide where for dinner, be sure to drop by these two places!

Stay tuned for next update.
